Recently I was a guest on the Steve Harvey show. They had strict dress code restrictions. My dress had to be a solid color (not black or white) with no stripes or patterns. The dress that I had brought along was too similar to the guest in the segment before me, so they gave me a red Calvin Klein dress to wear. The guest before me turned out to be Bethenny Frankel, who obviously has great taste!
The wardrobe guy didn’t like the shoes I had brought along either. I had brought my Mudd Vegas sandals and my Jellypop Hungary pumps along, but it appeared they wanted everyone to wear heeled pumps. When he said he’d grab me some pumps to try on, I asked if he had Christian Louboutin?! He quickly responded no. Every pair he brought me appeared too tight, too high (I didn’t want to trip walking across the stage) or showed too much toe cleavage (which I hate).
I could tell the wardrobe guy was losing patience with me when he said, “You’re only going to need to wear them for ten minutes.” So I decided I could tough it out and wear some too tight pumps with toe cleavage.
And I ended up wearing L.K. Bennett Monique Cut Out Leather Pumps, which retail for $375! Okay, they may not be Louboutins, but they are more expensive than any shoes I own!
Normally I wear a size 7.5, but this shoe was a European size 38.5 which equate to a US size 8, but they were still too tight. I ended up having to wear them for about 30 minutes, and my feet hurt something fierce! It wasn’t the 3.75″ heel height, it was the tightness on my toes and heels.
But I can now cross off “being on the Steve Harvey show” off my bucket list! The show is tentatively scheduled to air on 9/10/15.
