Merrell Barefoot Pace Glove Shoes

Choosing the right shoes for your vacation to Madagascar, Alaska, Florida or Hawaii is just as important as choosing the location itself.

Taking full advantage of an African Safari can be hard to do in flip-flops just as enjoying a day on the beach in steel-toed boots is nearly impossible. When you’re purchasing plane tickets to Juneau, arranging a day of deep sea fishing in the Pacific Ocean or booking a beach condo in Panama City, give thought to   the appropriate shoes for each location so you can make the most of your destination and so you don’t end up being the only person on the tundra in dress sandals.

Durable Footwear for Tropical Temperatures
Flip-Flop style sandals are the perfect beachwear. They’re easy to slip on and off, they come in all sizes, they’re cheap and they’re light to pack. But, not all flip-flops are equal.

Havaianas Sandals are durable, trustworthy and fashionable alternatives to the sandals that come apart the second someone steps on your heel. These sandals will outlast any other pair of flip-flops by a long shot and are an excellent investment for the sandal enthusiast.

The Outdoorsy Types
If you’re planning a hiking or camping trip, or plan to explore diverse
terrain, you’ll want to invest in a shoe that’s comfortable, dry and
reliable. If you’re hiking ten miles, but step in a puddle on mile two,
walking eight miles with soggy socks can ruin the experience of even the most avid hikers.

Merrell Shoes are some of the most esteemed hiking shoes in the business. They offer a variety of shoes for the whole family in different styles. The Barefoot shoes (shown above) are the perfect one-up to the typical flimsy water shoes and can be worn on nearly any surface.

The Jack-of-All-Trades
Toms shoes are an affordable and flexible shoe for all ages and differing weather conditions, locations or terrain. While these shoes aren’t great for extreme conditions, they do well in a variety of moderate circumstances such as the beach, long walks indoors or outdoors, hot temperatures or even cold weather with a thick pair of socks. The only limitation can be rain, as the wetness tends to be absorbed throughout the whole shoe. Not a great choice for the rainforest.

Casual, Dressy, Functional and Everywhere in Between Shoes
If you don’t know what shoe you could wear to the beach, on an outdoor nature path, shopping indoors or out to dinner, the Sperry Top-Sider is a safe bet for all of the above.

Though Sperry is typically known as a boating shoe company, their products are well made, reliable, fashionable, available for everyone in the family and are super functional. Sperrys are light shoes to pack, versatile and wearable in nearly every climate. But, you might stand a better chance browsing a trendy village of shops and restaurants in these shoes than climbing a mountain.

Use Common Sense

Vacations typically mean a lot of walking, long hours and unpredictable
adventures. When it comes to footwear for Panama City Beach versus Alaska, using common sense and planning ahead can mean all the difference in how much you’re able to enjoy your experience.

  1. Thanks for the post Dayne! I’ll be traveling this Holiday and I wasn’t sure what shoes to buy that would look nice & wouldn’t kill my feet. I intend to do a lot of walking & not sure if it’ll rain. Great! Thanks again! Xoxo
