Shall we call her Dr. Alicia Keys?

Grammy award-winning recording artist, musician and philanthropist, Alicia Keys attended the Doctors Of The World 2006 Health And Human Rights Leadership Awards in New York City last year. She appeared to be wearing a vintage Herve Leger gown and Forzieri Black Calf Leather T-Strap Evening Sandal Shoes. These Italian made dressy t-strap sandals are elegant and the chic black color pairs gracefully with a feminine and sophisticated rounded shape. The upper is made in pebble soft leather for a … [Read more...]

Arubas are Perfect Island Shoes

When I hear "Aruba", I think of the sad story of how Natalie Holloway disappeared on the island of  Aruba during a class trip. But now, Waldies has recently released a stylish slide, Aruba,  made of ComfoTek foam (coined "squishtastic").   Looks comfy to me.  I didn't care for Waldies' Appalachian Trail shoes (known as the  "AT") as they remind me of  Croc imitations. But the Aruba style get a thumbs up.   … [Read more...]

Sling These Biviels to the Back

I look forward to daily emails from Wayne, a dear reader, offering what he refers to as "shoe p*rn".   His note today with this pair of Biviel Slingbacks... "Strangely enough, I like these".   I'm not sure I agree.   At least not in metallic blue (what would you wear them with?!).   I'm not crazy about the tan or bronze either.   But I could maybe make the black work. Zappos 411... A casual sling back with a demi wedge and rubber sole. Knotted leather upper. 2 1/2" heel. Leather lining. A … [Read more...]

Mary Jane Keep on Burning

I've always been a fan of "Mary Jane" styled shoes, and own several pairs.   The problem is I never can find the perfect outfit to wear them with.   But, I was so excited when I first saw Target carry these  fun, cute, comfortable  alternative to slippers.   I love to wear them around the house (too hot to wear to bed though). I own several pairs of these as well (the picture is of my Christmas ones that I bought this year  after Christmas on clearance).   If I knew how to knit, I could make my … [Read more...]

Is Yellow the New Black?

Say it isn't so. I personally don't care for wearing the sunflower color on my feet.   But the Atlanta Journal-Constitution printed last week that yellow is the most versatile color for this transitional time of year. They recommended  the Amina style  high-heeled patent sandals   from  Cole Haan (I couldn't find a link for it)  as the perfect footnote with a little black dress. Later, you can pair the sandals with a white dress. I surfed and surfed for a yellow pair of sandals that I would … [Read more...]
